Cheryl Durst, executive vice president and CEO of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), is featured as a “Changemaker” in the “Imagine Your Impact” exhibition at the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. Curated by the Obama Foundation, the newly opened site’s inaugural exhibit highlights 33 contemporary individuals whose work drives meaningful grassroots change in their industries and communities. Included in the Inclusivity section of the show with her very own dedicated interactive station, Durst discusses how design can serve as a powerful force for change in a video interview as well. She is also one of only a few Chicagoans featured in the exhibit.
“It is an incredible honor to be included in the ‘Imagine Your Impact’ exhibition at the Obama Presidential Center alongside so many individuals whose work is making a meaningful difference,” Durst says. “I believe design is one of our most powerful tools for creating opportunity, fostering belonging, and improving lives, and I hope this inclusion inspires others to see how thoughtful, inclusive design can help shape a more equitable future.”
