Previously slated to consolidate two floors into one, an Austin fin-tech office expands its footprint across three floors and 90,000 square feet thanks to IA Interior Architects. The experience-driven workplace is crafted to reflect the evolving company as well as the culture of the Texas capital through expressive forms and colors. “We kept coming back to the idea that the only constant is change, which felt especially fitting for Austin and the way the city continues to evolve,” says IA project director Kendi Sparks. “As the project’s scope expanded across three floors, we saw an opportunity for each level to represent a different moment in time—past, present, and future—while creating distinct places for people to pause and recharge.”

Restrained, cool neutrals are enriched by warm, regionally inspired notes of terracotta, deep blue, and burgundy to establish an ambiance both sophisticated and grounded. Soft geometries and flowing forms imbue motion to reinforce brand language, while experiential graphics draw upon Austin’s creative culture to create immersive moments of storytelling and wayfinding. Custom murals are also integrated seamlessly into the architecture to layer personality and visual impact without relying on branding. Industrial elements like exposed ceilings and blackened steel are contrasted with warm woods, layered lighting, and tactile details like rope to embody a balance of refinement and approachability as well. “Our material palette grew out of a close look at Austin’s textures, colors, and indigenous species,” says IA senior designer Lois Warrior. “We wanted the environment to feel familiar to local employees while also supporting the unique evolution of each floor through color and material expression.”

A central circulation spine guides employees through the office, where open workstations, private offices, and flexible meeting spaces are interspersed with collaboration zones. Amenities like a speakeasy-inspired lounge, demo kitchen, game room, and richly detailed dining space promote comfort and socialization along with ample room to gather.
