A booming tech company has inaugurated its new headquarters in New York’s Flatiron District. Functional, flexible, and aspirational, the 12,000-square-foot workplace is crafted by Office of Tangible Space to reflect the team’s emphasis on unity and focus. “We wanted people to feel connected to each other and engaged with their environment. Because collaboration is such an important part of our clients’ company culture, it was essential that the office support natural interaction while still providing opportunities for focused work,” says Office of Tangible Space cofounder Michael Yarinsky. “Our goal was to create a space that feels welcoming, comfortable, and energizing—a place where people genuinely want to spend their time.”
To provide definition without creating barriers, Tangible Space outfits the office with abundant millwork. Wood shelving, banquettes, and storage volumes establish organization and warmth alongside simple tactile details including soft textiles and inviting leather. Ample natural light and greenery punctuate the organic layout as well. “Our goal was to create a workplace that felt minimal and focused without becoming sterile,” adds Office of Tangible Space cofounder Kelley Perumbeti. “The white oak millwork brings both organization and warmth. Soft upholstery adds comfort and texture, making the office feel more inviting and lived-in.” A cafe and all-hands space serves as the nucleus of the interior with long tables and soft seating supporting casual and intentional interaction. An adjacent lounge offers a less formal setting as well as additional seating for events.
